Covid-19 Update – May 18th

COVID-19 Update – May 18, 2020

To Our Clients, Family Members and Stakeholders:

Over the course of this unprecedented situation, we have worked diligently to stay updated with current information to ensure our responses have been following Executive Orders and CDC recommendations in this ever-changing environment. Our top priority remains the health and safety of our clients, staff, and visitors.  Since March, we have been actively engaged in planning, monitoring, training, and educating regarding COVID-19. We would like to take this time to update you with the following :

We have secured necessary PPE equipment and No Touch Thermometers for use with staff, clients, and visitors. We have made changes to our Infection Control Procedures and Emergency Preparedness plan, in addition to developing a Pandemic Response Plan. We have developed a Telehealth policy as it pertains to remote treatment that is being utilized during this time. Our therapists have completed trainings related to Infection Control and Prevention along with Telehealth to ensure our clinical staff are upholding the current guidelines and ethical standards of treatment through Telehealth.

On May 7, 2020, Governor Whitmer extended the Stay at Home Order until May 28, 2020. Currently, we are focusing on preparing for a return to on-site therapy and making the necessary and mandatory changes to allow for this to happen. There will be new protocols in place for clients, staff, and visitors that will ensure the continued focus of safety and welfare for our clients. A few of the changes include:

  • Wearing of masks for clients, staff, and visitors in the facility
  • Staggered client schedules to reduce the number of individuals in the facility at one time
  • Environmental controls put in place to ensure social distancing of at least 6 feet of physical distance
  • Structural changes in the facility including HVAC/filter maintenance system and no touch hand soap dispensers, hand sanitizers, and hand driers in bathrooms
  • Isolation room for any individual experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms
  • Sanitizing common and frequent use areas routinely throughout the day. In addition, providing sanitizing stations for use in the facility
  • Health screen for all clients, staff, and visitors upon entering the building
  • Hand sanitizing upon entering the building

This has been a difficult time for everyone and re-establishing an environment where everyone feels comfortable and safe is a multi-faceted challenge. We  understand that with these new changes in protocol there will be a period of adjustment; However, these changes are established to maintain the health and safety for our clients, staff, and visitors  as we move forward with returning to on-site therapy in today’s still challenging conditions.  We continue to monitor for updates and changes of the guidelines and requirements from the CDC, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and federal, state, and local authorities to ensure our practices are appropriately updated as new information becomes available. We will continue to keep you informed during this volatile time. Please do not hesitate to contact TBI Solutions Administration with your comments or questions.

Together we will get through this. Stay preventative and be well!
