Art Therapy

Art Therapy is the clinical and evidenced-based use of art activities designed to be both healing and life enhancing.  Our board-certified art therapist (ATR-BC) develops treatment goals and objectives based on a client’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.  The creation of art can promote organization, emotional stability, increase a client’s self-esteem and self-image. Art is also an outlet for emotions and can aid the client in coping with the stresses and anxiety of daily life. This therapeutic medium further assists in the formation of appropriate emotional responses for client’s with co-occurring mental health, substance use or traumatic brain injury diagnoses.

Art therapy goals can include:

  • processing of traumatic experiences
